Wensley Consulting specialises in Mechanical and Electrical Building Engineering Sevices. The company was formed in 1998 in Sale Cheshire and now comprises three offices located around the country. The company seeks to design Building Services which are able to improve our clients bottom line profit.

This can take several forms:

Designing the engineering services to maximise client income through reducing servicing areas or securing the office environment.

- Using whole life costing to reduce the financial impact of the services costs.
- Designing services which meet the corporate objectives in reducing the services impact upon the environment.
- Identifying failing services and introducing pragmatic and cost efficient services.
- We achieve this aim by employing experienced, qualified staff who are committed to the above principles.
- The company operates from two main offices, Manchester and Newbury.

LOW CARBON AND ENERGY CONSERVATION

The staff at Wensley Consulting have over 60 years experience in providing advice in energy conservation. We have also been providing advice in the use of Low Carbon impact technologies for a similar time and many of our current schemes include some of these solutions.

Wensley Consulting has developed software to provide energy use and carbon emission calculations for our schemes. These tools are used extensively to demonstrate the cost and conservation effectiveness of our schemes and has proven to be invaluable for our clients in helping them to assess the impact differing build solutions have on the environment.

ENERGY PERFORMANCE CERTIFICATES

Our staff are fully accredited to prepare and issue all levels of non-domestic energy performance certificates, (NDEPCs) levels 3, 4 & 5. We are accredited by CIBSE, BRE and STROMA.

Certificates are prepared using accredited software, iSBEM, Carbon Checker and TAS.

If you have a building which you intend to sell or let you must have a EPC to present to the future owner or tenant. If you are a builder, you must provide an EPC when the building is handed over.

We have issued over 700 NDEPCs since legislation came into force in 2008 and are experienced in working to tight programmes/timescales.

The EPC presents an opportunity for the building user to investigate possible improvements in the carbon emissions. We take great care in the selection of pragmatic and affordable Low and Zero carbon technologies for your building. We also take care to ensure that the option to use technologies are included in the NDEPC report.

DYNAMIC SIMULATION

The simulation of the performance of your building is an important tool in determining the future operating costs of your building.

Dynamic simulation is a software tool which calculates the hour by hour operation of your building, and allows for the solar location (shading), opening windows and internal activities. The tool is important in selecting the appropriate external shading, window exposures, ventilation openings and preventing the oversizing of plant and equipment.

The use of Dynamic simulation in conjuction with the design development by the architect is essential in the selection of the optimum design arrangement of your building. Our staff are fully trained in the use of Dynamic simulation and the interpretation of the results. Ask us for a demonstration.
