About The Dyslexia Association

The Dyslexia Association is a registered charity, established in 1971.

We provide support and services for dyslexic children and adults of all ages, their parents/families, educators, employers and the wider community. Our head office is in Nottingham and we provide services primarily across the East Midlands (Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Northamptonshire) and neighbouring counties.

If you are dyslexic, or think you might be dyslexic, or if you are concerned about another person, we can help. People with dyslexia think and learn differently from others. They sometimes feel as if their mind is 'differently wired'. Dyslexic people find it particularly difficult to learn to read write and/or spell even though their abilities in other ways may be average or better. They usually also have an unusual pattern of strengths and weaknesses in other areas. There is no cure for dyslexia but with the right teaching and support dyslexics can overcome their difficulties and achieve great things.

Our Services

Our confidential Helpline service provides free information, advice and guidance to anyone in our area who has a concern or query about dyslexia. Our other services include:
